Early Careers

Research has shown that early careers interaction and graduate schemes can increase BAME participation in the professional world.

Graduate schemes can increase diversity and promote social mobility

A report by the UK Social Mobility Commission and a study by the Association of Graduate Recruiters both suggest that graduate schemes can increase diversity and promote social mobility. The UK Social Mobility Commission report highlights the effectiveness of graduate schemes in providing structured training and development opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Association of Graduate Recruiters study found that graduate schemes can have a positive impact on diversity, particularly if they are structured to remove barriers to entry and provide targeted support to underrepresented groups.

This can be achieved through outreach programs to schools and universities, unconscious bias training for recruiters, and the use of anonymized recruitment processes to minimize the impact of bias

Supporting junior professionals at the start of their careers

The Early Careers Program is a targeted initiative aimed at individuals who are at the start of their professional journey, providing them with a range of opportunities to develop their skills and build their network. The program is designed to support candidates from diverse backgrounds who may face barriers to entering the workforce and provide them with access to career development resources.

Additionally, the program works to connect potential candidates with companies looking to recruit for their graduate programs. By partnering with these companies, the program ensures that a diverse and inclusive pool of candidates is considered for these opportunities.

Graduates in the program are given access to a variety of resources and support, including training and development opportunities, mentorship and coaching, and networking events with industry professionals. The program aims to equip graduates with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed in their careers and contribute to the growth and success of their future employers.
